ABC Mouse – Review and One Month Free

As a parent, it can be an intimidating prospect navigating the digital learning landscape for your children. As technology continues to evolve, finding the right educational programs tailored to your family’s needs can be overwhelming. Having been through this experience myself with my own pre-readers, I decided to write a review on ABC Mouse – an online program intended to give young minds a jumpstart into literacy skills. From personal experience, I hope my review gives parents some insight in determining whether or not ABC Mouse is the right fit for their child’s education journey.

When I found out ABC Mouse was going to let bloggers try out their site I jumped at the chance. So, spoiler alert, this is going to be a super positive Abcmouse review. ABC Mouse is a fun educational website for children ages 2-7 that your child is sure to love.

What is ABC Mouse?

  • ABCmouse is an Early Learning Academy with a full online curriculum for preschool through Kindergarten.

My youngest is in kindergarten and learning to read. I know they do a lot at school, but there’s 27 kids in his kindergarten class and it’s just too many. I know many of you are in the same situation. So like so many of you, we’ve been trying to supplement at home, which is not always easy. In fact, it can be super hard to teach a kid to read. I know because at this point I’ve taught three kids to read.

We’ve tried another computer program aka educational website and he hated it, so I wasn’t sure if he would even try ABC Mouse. I have two of their free phone apps on my cell and he plays those, so when I said ABC Mouse he already seemed to have a positive attitude towards it. I think that helped a lot.

Much to my delight he immediately got right into it. I set him up on the learning path and he did 5 activities in one sitting. (If you have a high-energy little guy like mine, then you will know why that’s a huge deal.) He enjoyed it so much he discussed it with me and played again later that day. Since then he has played games, spent time singing songs, and doing puzzles every single day. Sometimes he does the learning path that was customized for his age and sometimes he just does free choice. I love listening to him sing along with the songs.

Another great thing is the parent section. Here I can watch his progress and adjust his levels if I want. There’s also explanations of the various lessons. They’ve got hundreds of lessons offering step-by-step learning.

When you visit their website you can sign up for a 30-day free trial

More Tips for Teaching a Child to Read

If you are looking for more resources for teaching a child to read I have a few. These are all things I used to teach my children to read.

BOB Books

I’m not going to lie, after three kids I was ready to burn these books, but they work. So no matter how many times I got tired of reading them, it didn’t matter. The results were worth it. These books, get kids started reading letters and small words and continue to build and build on what they know as they move along.

A B SEAS Alphabet Fishing Game

I literally cannot imagine how many times I’ve played this game, but again, it works. Kids will be highly entertained fishing for letters. It’s an easy way to teach them to recognize their letters.

All in all, ABC Mouse delivers an exceptional learning experience and makes learning fun for the whole family. It’s full of creative games and activities that spark a child’s imagination and strengthen their knowledge base. I highly recommend trying it out if you’re looking for something to do with your children to help keep them busy or need an educational supplement. Plus, it will save your sanity since they won’t be constantly nagging for screen time! The subscription is worth every penny, trust me – you get more than what you are paying for with this product! So why not give it a try today and see what wonders await.
