VEX Robotics Arm
Experience quality time with your child and teach them about science by building and playing with the VEX® Robotics Robotic Arm.
Have your kids ever wondered how industrial robots work? You know, the kind of robots that work on assembly lines building other complex pieces of machinery like at auto factories? Now your kiddo can unlock the mystery behind these sophisticated robots by building one themselves. Exclusively from HEXBUG® comes the Stem based VEX® Robotics Robotic Arm – a completely functional construction kit inspired by real industrial robot arms.
This unique Robotic Arm is hand-powered and can pick up and relocate items using four degrees of freedom and an articulated grabber hand. The whole crane can rotate 360 degrees, allowing this miniature robot to perform the complex actions of its real-life counterpart.
My 9-year-old son Jonah loved putting this together. He thought that even though it had tons of pieces that it was fun to build and a super cool toy. We put this together over two days. Total time for us to build it was about 5 hours.
Jonah’s favorite feature was how all the gears worked together to open the 5″ grip. He loves seeing what it can pick up like rocks and socks.
I would recommend this toy because it’s a fun toy to build. It’s a great activity for a parent to do with their child. Not only can you experience quality time with your child putting it together but it is also highly educational. Your child can learn about gear reductions and power transfer by building and playing with the VEX® Robotics Robotic Arm.
So far we have only built the arm, but there are no other ways to build it. You can turn this into a chopper or a scorpion-like show below on the box.
