How to Make Playdough

Homemade Playdough is fairly easy to make, actually once you have learned how to make playdough you will actually find it extremely easy.

Plus, chances are you have all the ingredients you need already in your kitchen and your kids will love getting to make their very own. Even older children think it is neat to make their own playdough. It is also a lot cheaper than buying it from the store.

How to make playdough

Playdough Recipe

1 cup white flour

1/4 cup salt

2 TBS cream of tartar

Combine the first three ingredients then add:

1 cup water

2 tsp food coloring

1 TBS oil

Cook over medium hear and stir 3-5 minutes. It will look like a mess and may appear not to be working. It will work when it forms a ball in the center of the pot. Take the ball out and knead on a lightly floured surface. Store in an air tight container.

Many people like to make edible playdough for their kids, especially the peanut butter playdough. I do not do this because my daughter is allergic to peanuts. For those of you that would like to make it here is the recipe, it is even easier than the first one here and only needs three ingredients!
